Miracle or not? A look at Bee Pollen
There is much discuss about the immense benefits of Bee Pollen. It is considered by many to remain nature’s most perfect complete food. With every known mineral accounted for including vitamins, amino acids and trace minerals, bee pollen is highly nutritious. And with its rich anti-oxidant features it is simply the meal for champions.
By including Bee Pollen in our daily diet, we ensure that we are able to balance our every day nutritional diet regardless of what else we eat.
The use of Bee Pollen can be traced back a long way. Ancient books like Chinese and Egyptian records have mentions of its use as well as religious books like the Bible, Koran and Torah. And one of our most popular presidents, Ronald Reagan, took bee pollen for years.
There are many testimonies of the healing qualities found with the use of benefits of bee pollen. Amongst many others, bee pollen has been said to result in the increase in body energy as well as its immune system, aided in the facilitation and repair of damaged cells and caused the cure of many kinds of diseases.
Yet another attributed advantage is its ability to aid digestion and the general health of the intestines by controlling organisms contained therein and aiding in the absorption of nutrients.
But it helps to keep a little perspective and remain as least a little skeptical. Thus far, I am aware of no reputable scientific study that supports the view that bee pollen is effective against any human disease.
What really then is Bee Pollen?
Pollen is found in the male part of a flowering plant. Carried by bees from flower to flower, pollen is used in the fertilization of plants. The residual pollen which is not dropped off by the bees but instead carried to the hive is what is collected as bee pollen.
And it is precisely because of this pollen that many people who have allergies will be negatively affected by bee pollen. In fact, there are well-known reports of bee pollen and royal jelly triggering asthma, hives, sore throats, facial itches and even anaphylactic shock in people with allergies to specific pollens. Allergy reactions can be triggered by even the tiniest amounts of pollen.
But one more real hidden danger is that many people will believe so much in the efficacy of bee pollen or some other nutrient of the month that they completely ignore the signs of their own body. The views and advises of doctors and nutritionist should always be taken in preference over the reliance on nutritional supplements.
